The mackerel is one of the most abused fish by the local market as it often shined in ammonia given its very soft & decay-prone nature. One of the most abundantly available fish on the coast. It is often available fresh in the domestic market. Fish large in size are exported.
Please note that, unlike the fish market where the cutting happens on the whole fish that you take (and thus appears free), we actually charge you only for the final weight post cutting, so a fish that is cut will be much larger in the final eatable weight than a whole fish.
